For what it's worth, why don't you all preorder from Gamestop? They are solid with preorders.

Got my Gears preorder from Gamestop last week. They generally get things first.

I do preorders on big ticket items with GS (commander, titan, multipacks etc) for the discount, which I'm unlikely to see anywhere else, I agree
And for most regular retail items, if it's something I really really prioritize, I'll GS it
But for others that I'm only hmming & hahing over? I'll wait & see if they don't go on sale @ amazon later
Also, I usually preorder GS in person or over the phone - never got my "online preorders" w GS off the ground
In the case of Gears, it's more like "oh hey there's one" and I jumped - don't want to miss him, cause I imagine he won't below MSRP later on

They sell out almost immediately for popular items. They have a $75 min for free shipping. This preorder came up weeks before anyone else.

Oh, also, I forgot the most important reason - hiding my purchases from the wife!
Purchases from WM “could” be groceries/essentials
Purchases from GS, she’d be like “wtf is this” etc
