Re: Onslaught not selling...??

Onslaught is ok, I'm really not impressed with that toy. The alt mode bites, the robot mode barely saves it, and the transformation is a pain in the ass. Not to mention the busted sound effects, flimsy turret, and useless shield that hardly pegs on anything. I personally like Powerglide more my only problem with him is how easily one can set of his machine gun sound in robot mode.

To stay on topic it seems that both sell fairly well here.

Pity Onslaught isn't selling. I quite like him.

Though I can see why Powerglide is selling better. For one, he's a jet. For two, he's got cooler lights and sounds. For three, I actually like his transformation better. He's a lot better than I thought he'd be.

Re: Onslaught not selling...??

I picked up Onslaught a few weeks ago and considered Powerglide, but opted to go for the Japanese version to be more G1 accurate. If I bought our version I would just end up wanting to paint him anyway.

I liked Onslaught!!!

Re: Onslaught not selling...??

I see he and Powerglide around everywhere and I don't think the $35/40 price point helps move these toys either. I think wile Onslaught maybe sought after by fans I don't see a lot of kids and their parents in a huge rush to pick these up which is probably why he's lingering.

Like the leader movie toys that sat around...even till now. The price-point doesn't help as Soundwave stated. Plus with the overall economy, I think people are more frugal with spending overall, even for their kids.

If they are on clearance, or a sale, I'm sure it will make a difference. $35/$40 is too much to spend on one thing. Having said that, it took me some time to find one at Walmart.

I don't think 35,40 is too much, that is why it is hard for you to find at Walmart. For a toy like that, definitely I am willing to pay 40 dollars for it.

Re: Onslaught not selling...??

I have been noticing both of them starting to shelf warm. I think it has to do with supply as much as buying habits. They both were around scarcely for a month or so and then full stock of them came in and every store seems to have endless amounts.

I liked Onslaught a lot more at first, but he has faded on me while I have come to like Powerglide much more. Everything about PGlide rocks except that his legs can barely hold his body up.

Talking about Powerglide, I think StormCloud is much cooler, with that purple and black color. I would choose it over powerglide actually. I haven't see much Onslaught, but Powerglide. I think everyone wants to get the Henkei G1 accurate color version.

The Onslaught gratuitous shield really ruined it for me. I really have an eversion to shields ever since BeastWars went overboard with making leftover heads, tail, and shells into just a hand, weapon, and shield.

Powerglide woulda bin cooler as a deluxe, but he's way too big. Just like Cybertron Starscream, there wasn't much value in paying quadruple for his over-size.
