optimus maximus: whats the appeal?

The ark I get its a playset but what's the appeal of this monstrosity?

A cyberverse ultimate prime minus butterfly wings?

It's an Optimus.

It's baseformer with interactivity with actual bots especially made for it.

Ummm it's huge.

To me, the only appeal was the Optimus part of the name. Otherwise it's an atrocious toy.

If you want to stretch things a bit, it is also a Hasbro & Prime version of the concept of Powermaster Optimus Prime and Star Convoy, in Cyberverse.

Star Convoy pulls off the 'base' form a little bit better, but you still can't beat the appeal of something that turns into a giant hulking robot, and a miniature base for your little dudes to run around and interact with.

Heck there are even nods to the old Action Master vehicles.

0 appeal for me. MAYBE if it was more articulated rather than a giant waste of plastic, I would be more open to it. I am pretty sure Fort Max is actually more articulted.

Truth be told it's a VERY HOLLOW chunk of plastic with little weight for your money AND while it does look impressive in size, ONLY his head is worth ripping off and using for another tf custom.

As for people who like to buy play sets I still don't think it's worth the price tag of 34.99. You'd be better off spending it on other figures from the show.

For people who have a lot of cyberverse figures, it might be cool but then again there's the energon driller and sky hammer play sets which are worth every penny.

Edit: as for the appeal and I totally forgot about answering the main part of the question, it's up to you, for me the only appeal is that If I get it someday I rip off that head and the gun for some custom maybe. If you have a lot of prime cyberverses and a kid then the appeal might be a little more for you. So far as for the appeal in the collector's market, i doubt there's any at all........any day of the week for now you can walk in and find an optimus maximus on the shelves.

This toy is pretty crap.

However, if I were a kid in my hayday of Transformers playing, and my parents brought this home for me.... FUCK YES! I loved this kind of shit.

Because it's absolutely ludicrous....?

Other than that, I've got nothing.
