This is way better than the gun on the original version. If I recall correctly Prime never used a gun in the movie, but he owned bonecrusher with the sword.

He used a gun (which he pulled from his back) against Megatron for a split second, but you'd miss it if you blinked.

The sword is indeed far more fitting, but I don't know if it's "buy the figure again" fitting.

Personally I don't think it's worth buying the figure again just for a sword (especially if they have a steep price tag like the original leaders). I heard it will have a remolded head. Even then, that's a lot of money for a minor cosmetic change. Probably better off keeping that money and buying some actual new figures. But if you don't have this one, it makes it more appealing for sure. Way better than the pea shooter he had originally.
