Money well-spent, then. I'm sure they're very well-made from much better leather than my H&M specials. I'm just a big ol' cheapo, gotta have my fun/style on a budget.
I keep eyeing those Indy replica hats every time I go to Disneyland/World, but I haven't yet had the willpower to lay down the cash. Maybe one of these days. But of course, even the official merchandise isn't film-accurate, either. But the real thing can be had, if I'm willing to pay more.
Another fun tidbit. I can't remember a lot of the details, but a well-known collector on one of the big prop forums purchased a screen-used hat from one of the stuntmen who worked on the film. The stunt guy had just grabbed it from a bin on his last day of shooting as a souvenir and asked Harrison Ford to sign it. Well, this collector guy bought this hat thinking he already got extremely lucky with an actual screen-used prop signed by the star, but after the fact and a lot of extensive screen-cap comparisons, he determined it was THE actual Indy Hat, worn by Ford himself while shooting! AND it's signed!
Now that's lucky!
