Nope not completely untrue at all. There is a reason that Star Trek isn't on the small screen anymore, it's that it's not really accessible to the current generation. The J.j Abrams reboot brought Star Trek back into revelence, so you should be atleast thankful that, or you can't really be a true fan.

On topic: anyone else think that Adam Driver is going to be a villian in episode VII? He just has that kind of voice and face lol.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

Rumor is that Driver will be falling to the darkside, but there is really no solid info on that yet.

Donate $10 to Unicef and you're automatically entered to win a chance to appear in Episode VII, go behind the scenes in London and meet the cast!

So sayeth JJ Abrams and non-CG (hooray!) Henson-like alien.

Donated, and fingers crossed!!!

Oh wow, this is the first time I've seen JJ Abrams and I have to say he looks NOTHING like I expected.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

I tell you one thing, JJ seems a lot more personable then Lucas. First time I ever heard him speak. I wonder if UNICEF accepts Republic credits, doubt it (setting up jjwankenobi...)

And that puppet is awesome haha I miss the days of non-CG Not everything needs to be CG...[cough]Yoda[/cough].

Yeah, I thought his face would be one giant lens flare.

It's completely true. Star Trek is one of the most successful entertainment brands in the world and has been for almost 50 years.

Did JJ make some entertaining movies? Sure he did and he could have done it without shitting all over the previous 40 years that came before it. He could have said, this is an alternate timeline and EVERY Star Trek fan I have ever heard of would have been ok with that. Instead, he took a franchise that was already good and ruined it.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

It was an alternative Timeline.

The story takes place in an alternate reality due from the one currently in canon, because of the time travel by both Nero and the original Spock. The alternate timeline was created to free the film and the franchise from established continuity constraints while keeping original story elements.

Everyone knows this.........

Re: Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

How bout that new alien pictured with JJ Abrams? DNA splice of Yoda & Ephant Mon?

Maybe Luke's love interest?

I dunno, but it does look quite retro.
