Final sale printed on receipts now.

Here's a screenshot from a buyer of a Marvel Legends action figure.

I don't know what will happen to people who bought the "Collectors items" with receipts that didn't have the Final sale on their receipts yet.

I'm never buying any collectibles from them ever again.

Never say never, they may have a sale or clearance later on the road.

Re: Toys R Us Canada Announces all Collector Items Products as FINAL SALE

They wouldn't introduce the policy arbitraily.

Something is happening frequently enough which is causing them to lose money and or spend money handling returns.

Scalpers returning massive large amounts of unscalpable products (especially late in a product run)?

Product swapping?

Hardcore collectors returning product because of a fleck of paint being out of place?

Certainly a problem with returns is that it makes it difficult for a store to gauge the actual demand for future lines.

Re: Toys R Us Canada Announces all Collector Items Products as FINAL SALE

I will say though that I've never seen Toys R Us so full of inventory the past 2-3 weeks when taking into account the past 2 to 3 yrs. Lots of great stuff available if you are willing to spend more than retail.

It reminds of Toys Toys Toys from 10 yrs back; nice to browse and all but good luck with selling anything at those crazy prices.

Scalpers are definitely not pillaging the stores like in the past.

A TRU here mentioned they have no such policy when asked directly about it (yet... because they admitted the windowless boxes were going to be problematic).

They also talked about the Funko situation. Not only were they getting online returns in-store that they had to accept, this particular store told me that Funkos returns were ~40% of their entire store returns. No wonder those signs went up a few months ago.

Profit can't be made at those prices.

I do not understand the appeal of Funko Pops. I have exactly 2 of them, both of them are Groot from GOTG1, and both were essentially given to me as gifts. And they just sit there, in their boxes, and take up space. How does anyone decide which ones to collect? They have so many varieties of every known character from everything.
And returning them? Why? They're worth like max 20 bucks, most of them. Is ToysRus selling rare or exclusive ones? Not from what I can tell...
