Yeah. I'm hardly naive to inflation. the reality is Hasbro's price points are not based on need but profit. Yes, capitalism, even so, hasbro regularly talks out of both sides of their mouth "oh cost of production! Also record profits! Shareholders!"
I HIGHLY doubt max costs so much to produce, even today, he needs to be $300. But that's the "price point" so that's what it is.
And to the other point, given what he goes for on the aftermarket, 300 is comparable.
I get all of that. It doesn't mean I have to like it. It's like when they increase a price point and old stock now costs that. I somehow grabbed an ss86 hot rod for 40, and a week later all the voyagers were 47.99. Same toy. It's like... I'd get it if price increases applied to the new lines but it's across the board.
