Re: FT-05 is Swoop (Soar)

How many of you once you've gotten Scoria and Soar would still buy a Takara / Hasbro version?

Honestly spending $200 on Scoria and Soar would make me think twice about buying more versions of them that are "official"

If the HasTak versions were as good or better than FansToys, which I can't see them getting any better, I'd buy one, but more than likely Hasbro versions due to the initial costs of the 3rd party versions. I usually buy 2 of each MP for each mode depending on my interest in the character. I already have 2 Scoria on pre-order and I'm strongly considering 2 of Soar.

Re: FT-05 is Swoop (Soar)

Here are some digibashes by Craka J from TFW2005 forums, and by the way, I am getting the red version so it is more consistent with the rest of the team, but admit the blue one looks fantastic and would love if I could have both, and is very tough to choose.

NOTE: These are Digibashes from Cracka J, NOT OFFICIAL

Re: FT-05 is Swoop (Soar)

I'm in for all 5 FT MP Dinobots.

The only issue I have with this guy is his face. The block int he middle of his forhead needs to go down lower and his face looks too caveman-y. I would like to see a lighter expression on his face.

The Alt mode neck I can live with.

I just hope we get gold metal on his head to match Scoria.

Re: FT-05 is Swoop (Soar)

The face don't much bother me. I only have a few minir gripes. For $200 I think I'm entitled to them

  • Markings on the beak. That's where my transparent Autobot sticker needs to go!
  • The transition between the Dino head and the beak is too abrupt. Was hoping it would be smoother like the cartoon
  • Shorter than MP-10! There is no excuse for this IMO

Ok I've vented, now take my money

My love for the Dinobots has wained in recent years but this line is rekindling my love for them. Mind you I'm not a Grimlock fan, always been a fan of swoop and snarl over the rest.
I may need to rethink my budget for this year.

The replacement parts of Scoria will be sent to retailers in next week also.
Also for those that don't know already, Soar will come with two sets of wings (silver and chrome) and two upper beaks (chrome and clear).

Re: FT-05 is Swoop (Soar)

Really looking forward to the dinobot team! I don't think that HAS/TAK will go any further with the dinobot line. I might be wrong on that, but from what I've read in the past, the G1 dinobots bombed big time in Japan and were not nearly as big a hit as they were in North America. I think HAS/TAK gave the fans a "token" MP Grimlock just to keep the fans happy. The dinobot molds would be to character specific and other then repaints they really could not make anything else out of them. Unlike the other molds that were used to make other character such as the Seekers, and Prowl and his brothers, aswell as Sideswipe and Red Alert.
