What's the best poutine you've ever had?
Mine was at the Irving big stop between Edmundston and the Quebec border. It was a GIANT plate of galvaude, so it had chicken and peas in it as well.

decarie hotdogs back in 1997-1999.
from small mom and pop place the size no bigger than your master bedroom. it was plain old school poutine with the best sauce and fries.
i use to eat there then play streetfighter at the decarie arcade, daniel amusement, with my buddies. (home of the best SF players in the east coast.)

Apparently there's a new Poutine only Restaurant open in T.O. They were talking about it and how good it was on the Dean Blundell show
http://smokespoutinerie.com/
They have a Bacon poutine. Nuff said...
Cheers!

THIS.
Decarie Hot Dogs makes the friggin' best poutine around.
In fact, I had one from there just 2 days ago.
Runner-up for me would be La Banquise ( http://www.restolabanquise.com/), on Rachel in the east-end of Montreal. They have a massive selection of all sorts of poutines; definitely worth checking out. Especially their "T-Rex" poutine: fries + gravy + cheese + ground beef + pepperoni + sausage + bacon...

I dunno... the stuff I had the Calgary Zoo was pretty damn good... it was real cheese curd, too...

Re: What's the best poutine you've ever had?
You guys don't know anything about real poutine. I live in the city that invented it. We also have the Festival de la Poutine here.
My favorite is the spicy one with sausage from Stratos.

My two favorite are the one (regular) from pizza 67 in Charny in the south shore of Quebec city and the Mexican Poutine from La Frite Mexicaine in Metabetchouan in the Lac-St-Jean aera.

Chalk up another for Decarie Hot Dogs. Runners up are La Belle Province (its easy to find, and its not amazing, but there's not a damn thing wrong with it), and home-made stuff, though I'm not sure if that counts.
