Caprica: The Future of Battlestar Galactica

Well, sort of I guess.

I've gotten thinking about this again because I just watched The Plan and noted that it announces that Caprica: The Series is starting in January 2010.

I did enjoy the Caprica pilot, but it struck me as something that will be difficult to translate into a popular mass market franchise, even with the potential of an installed fan base from BSG.

Caprica debuts on Space on January 22nd at 9pm Eastern and I'll be watching. I just wonder if anyone else will be?

Oh, and I really enjoyed The Plan, which really expanded upon the Cavill and Simon Cylons. Great CGI and an awesome look at the Cyclon invasion of the colonies. Great stuff.

Airman EXE made a cameo in episode 1 (In toy form)..... just mentioning that as a hardcore Megaman fan =P

Yes, we Megaman fans are a crazy lot.

Seeing that in the Megaman series the robots more or less revolt, do you think that having Airman in there was intentionally done?

Also, I haven't seen past season 2 of BSG. I should get around to seeing S3 and 4 at some point. Then work towards Caprica.

Not interested in Caprica - but I also enjoyed The Plan. It was good to see Simon actually do something lol.

Yay, a new series where everybody is constantly in a bad mood, it's always gloomy, and the universe is full of suck.

I can't wait.

Re: Caprica: The Future of Battlestar Galactica

Excited about Caprica...very different from what we've seen in other sci-fi shows, or other shows period...just hope they hire better child actors, cause young William was pretty bad. The rest of the cast is top notch.

In my opinion, The Plan was full of potential but ended up being pretty bad. Its not the story I have an issue with, it was nice filler for the series. Just the execution and delivery. If this was relaesed as part of the box set as an exclusive, I might have been able to let it go. But as a stand alone item that we shelled out 20 to 30 bucks for....I don't think so. The sex was gratuitous and served no purpose to advance the story or style...the delivery of the story felt disjointed and with too much footage from the past. Sure it helps situate, but it didn't bring as much to the story as it could have... Oh well, at least the overall series still rocks.
