Re: Going in for Surgery

You'll do just fine. I've been under the knife a couple of times. Once for a hernia and the other, I had to have a saliva gland removed due to a tumor from behind and below my right jaw. Had to cut from my ear to just below my jaw. That was "fun". Then they glued me back together! No stitches.

Anyways, best of luck and a speedy recovery! Cheers!

Re: Going in for Surgery

i had surgery in August, my first ever where I was under general. I was nervous as frack and it was a day surgery and only 1-2 hours long. (Gallbladder Surgery). The last thing I remember was them telling me that they were giving me oxygen and the next time I woke up in recovery. Which for me was the worse part. Everyone reacts different, my sister felt really cold when she woke up, my mom had nausa and I was completely disoriented and distressed. (they had to get 3 nurses to calm me down). I didn't know who I was, where I was, I could barely read anything, I was hyperventiling and in alot of upper torso pain. But once I calmed down, everything went well.

Pain was minimal, recovery was quick but a process. But don't worry you'll be fine, I also had to sign a waiver and was told 3 times that the surgery could switch to open at anytime. They had to make sure I understood that. Best of luck

Re: Going in for Surgery

Less then 4 hours till the surgery.

I've only been put under once. Waked up fine, then did some power puking. The nurse asked me if I was fine. Seeing as I had already PP'ed half a dozen time in the last 12 hours. I was good...

But I guess I was to chatty, they moved me into the hall way. Snap...

Re: Going in for Surgery

I am very happy they told me that the first few times I pee'd it was basically just going to be blood. That would have freaked me out. So the surgery went well.

I have to go in for testing next Monday to find out if it was successful. Sadly that means the stint has to stay in.

If not, I may have to go in for this surgery a few more times. If anyone on this forum suffers from actual chronic pain. I feel for you. I'm just over a month and I don't think I could live or want to live with this for months or years.
