G1 Transformers The Complete Series

I am looking to buy the DVD set the Complete series, and I found it on Amazon, but the only thing is it costs 97$ tax incl. Is it worth it? since it's hard to find. I am hesitant of getting it.

Re: G1 Transformers The Complete Series

I had the Rhinomation set and opted to upgrade based on the corrected animation errors and improvement over the Rhino set's infamously glaring "enhanced" audio track.

Initial impression is that I sorta miss the 5.1 audio but am thankful for the smaller footprint it takes on my DVD shelf.

In the end if you love G1 then it's a no brainer. Gotta get this set. If you can be patient, wait a while. Amazon may have a sale again.

If you're not in a hurry to get it, I would just be patient. As long as Shout Factory has the licence, they will put this sucker out every few years (as they did in 2009, then last year), and it will likely be at a half decent price when they do (it hit $30-$40 last fall on Amazon).

Re: G1 Transformers The Complete Series

If I remember correctly, this set is exactly the same as the Matrix of Leadership set.

And as long as all the bonus features remain the same, it also includes some footage from TFcon!

It's also available as individual season sets, so that may be a cheaper option depending on where you shop and what you can find. Currently it looks to be more expensive at Amazon by the time you add them all up. http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B001SLNPTI

FYI, the box set is currently on sale at amazon. $84.69 and free shipping. http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B004NJC0JI

If indeed this is a legit Shout! Factory set do not hestitate!

If it's legit, yeah...it's half the price of the original retail (I paid $100 for it at Best Buy when it came out). Besides the too good to be true price, it says the DVD region is "Worldwide" - which is a red flag. The DVDs would be Region 1 if it's North American. Some blu-rays are region free but DVDs are rarely region free unless they're knockoffs/copies...

______

Checking out the rest of the website...they're based out of Australia with a .ca domain (weird). Their FAQ says all of their DVDs are region free, which is again a red flag. I'm betting the pictured limited edition box set isn't what actually gets delivered.

superdvdoutlet.ca based on reviews from google, sells counterfeit goods. I would not trust you are getting a legit box set.
