Harry Potter - Part 7a
Who thinks this movie is worth going to see?
I have mixed emotions. Not to keen on singular themed movies that are broken up. Part A and B scenario is really putting me off. I might just wait for the Blu-ray Deathly Hollows double edition.

The book was a bit of a drag. Hopfully the movies stay fairly true to the story of the books, but I doubt it. It will be nice to it all wrapped up though...

Are you kidding me? The books are amazing! They're very well written, interesting, and one of the best series of all time!
Not to say you can't have an opinion, but please give reasons why you found it so boring. (no offense, by the way)
On a different note, you can probably tell that I'm an HP fan, and will certainly see the movie.

I had the same policy too until I was forced to listen to the audio books.

Re: Harry Potter - Part 7a
i loved the books for the most part - awesome series. Have not enjoyed movies 4, 5, 6 and likely wont 7a or 7b... But |I'm sure I'll end up seeing them in theatres so at least I'll be able to say I tried

Re: Harry Potter - Part 7a
Personally, I'm kinda hoping that the two seperate movies are a bit more...evenly balanced...than the book was, cause I do enjoy the series as a whole. It just needs far better pacing than the novel had.
The last book just seemed...off. You get to read through 400 pages of Harry, Hermoine and Ron pissing and moaning in the woods, followed by 25 pages where they have to find and destroy a whole yard sales' worth of soul encrusted dark magickal crap, work in the title gimmick of an unbeatable wand that you get when you beat the guy who was wielding it and have your final showdown between good and evil. If that translates into 2 1/2 hours of the core group blundering around the woods, then I'll wait for it to hit the bargain DVD bin, but if they've improved the pacing, I'll see it probably the second weekend it's out so I don't have to sit in a theater with a bunch of screaming kids or smelly teenagers.

Re: Harry Potter - Part 7a
Books were good, movies were good...I don't see why I wouldn't see these final movies.
The Hobbit will be split in two parts as well...but that's how she goes.
