Starcraft II Thread

I just started playing Starcraft II yesterday, and man it's good. RPG/RTS is a good mix!

Anyway, I've noticed a few vague transformers references, ie. one of the units has a very G2 Skyjack-esque face, has anyone else noticed anything else? I'll post more as I find them, but I'm pretty sure they're in there.

Anyway, discuss - how do you like it so far? Post your battle.net names!

Re: Starcraft II Thread

Finished the campaign on Normal a few hours ago. I'm preparing to go through again for some of the achievements I missed and maybe Hard for additional avatars.

No spoilers for the ending but during the credits there's a song that mentions the Viking. Then how he's got a Transformer and it ain't no wuss like Starscream =P

Haven't gone in on 1v1 atm, haven't played since the Beta haha I'll get that after my exam.

Re: Starcraft II Thread

It's not really a reference, but Neil Kaplan (RID Prime) was one of the voice actors for this game. He is the role of Tychus Findlay.

Re: Starcraft II Thread

For a heads up, no spoilers but there's a secret mission. Best do it before you go to Char cause there's no turning back once you initiate that sequence of events. In the Media Blitz mission, go to the bottom right hand corner, destroy the Korhal Civilian building and an artifact falls out. Grab that, its the secret mission. Finish the rest of the mission and then go to the star map. Do said secret mission.

If you don't you'll be at 25/26 once you've gone through the campaign. And you'll have to start a new campaign to access that mission cause on Char you can't go visit other planets.

Re: Starcraft II Thread

I have been slowly working my way through the campaign. I hardly have any time for games anymore... but like most gamers, I have been waiting for this game for a LONG time! If I find more time, I may go back onto the online scene. I put a lot of time into Starcraft and Diablo II.

It's worth it. The way the story is laid out, you can get as deep, or stay as shalow as you want. There are rpg-like elements between missions. Even a fictional TV station that takes a poke at CNN

Re: Starcraft II Thread

And the way the missions work, it's great for workin folk. When you are at home relaxing or winding down from a hard days work, just load up the game and play one, maybe 2 missions. If you do it that way, the game won't take up all of your free time, and on top of that the game will seem to last so much longer
Or you could be like me, and try to do that and go "Hmm, I should go to bed now... I have time for one more!" *dies*

Re: Starcraft II Thread

i have been playing occasionaly at Starcraft for over 10 years now

...i pre order this since last July 2009 at 49.99$ at future shop and received it last week and played only couple hours....for my part...some stuff is too similar to Warcraft 3

...i means the concept of finding some mineral and gaz in some contaner

...the graphic wise is nice but not excellent

...in general its nice but not excellent....a little disapointed maybe i expected too much from this...since im a huge fans of Starcraft 1 and waited for 10 years for this

...ohh well still gonna played it thought

I gave it 8/10
