I can confirm the 50% off works! I got my self a few LEGO Star Wars sets, I even got the advent calendar for $10! 
Bonus, I got lucky with the lady at the cash she let me use multiple coupons by doing several single transactions. Try it out or just go to different cash registers with single items and coupons.
