my motherboard just became a brick!!! yeah . so much fun using my ps3 to write messages. i think its time to upgrade back to a pc from a laptop.

I hear you. My PC bit the big one a few months ago and i'm a bit shy to buy a new one...PS3 computer FTW!

My siblings have some pretty bad luck with pc's.

My parents pc died from a power surge (bought warranty, Futureshop used the opportunity to upsell to a more expensive pc)

My little sister's Laptop's gpu died within a month of buying it(Warranty again fixed that)

My first brother's laptop's dvd drive and gpu croaked (no warranty, so he bought a new desktop)

And my second brother's PC's gpu was acting up last winter (fan died) so we replaced it and now his PSU has blown. So he is now fored to use his laptop which can't play TF2 or Left for Dead II and puts out so much heat that if left next to a metal object, can cause it to heat to the point of 1st. degree burns.

The only problems I have had with my computers is that the original one I built (had a cool lightup Autobot Logo on the front) blew up because the guy who sold it to me, sold me a bad PSU. Had to get the whole thing replaced. And my laptop's battery won't hold a charge.

So we feel your pain all too well. hope you can get it fixed soon.

i take a sick pleasure lol as it takes so long to write anything on the ps3. my laptop is 4 years old, so it owes me nothing. i am however learning the hot keys. so yeah. i hope i can recover the hdd as its fate is unclear. it would be sad to lose 2 moths worth of dls & my tf archive.

I've owned three PC's in my life, one of which was a laptop. They all sucked and they all gave me problems. Ever since I switched to a Mac, I've never had problems. Stress-wise, it was my best decision ever.

gone mac, gone back. never deal with that again. but then thats when mac was something different to pc. mac's now is just an over priced pc with branding and an ego. just my opinion .

Been building my own pc's for years. The only way to go imo.
Never had any issues. You get what you pay for.
