I don't have the first clue about heavy modding, scratch building, yada yada yada, so please forgive my ignorance...

How is it that you guys managed to build/mod two nearly identicle Devastator's like this? Was there some sort of parts & pieces template that you both followed, or did frenzy_rumble do it first and then shotokandragon used that design to make one his own along with some slight modifications here & there?

They both look amazing and I don't care who did it first - I'm just trying to wrap my head around how they could possibly look so similar.

Re: 1st Heavy Mod Devastator

Well, my robots (for the most part) were built off Ptitvite's design. I think I used a very different looking Mixmaster than Ptitvite, and a few other changes (head/chest plate, etc)

I also went with adding lots of gundam parts to build up the torso and arms, and knee areas.

Re: 1st Heavy Mod Devastator

I think it has to do with choosing the base models to make up Devastator. There are only so many dump trucks, cranes, etc. to choose from. People also tend to use unicron/primus parts to serve as arms, torso, etc. so that's another similarity.

If you have most of the models and pieces in common, the end product is going to look very similar.
