Re: Collection regrets (the other side)...

Thanks for reminding me I would also add Encore G1 Ratchet and Ironhide to that as well.

Re: Collection regrets (the other side)...

G1 Predaking.

Yes, I said it.

He cost me an arm and a leg to obtain an original one.

I couldn't play with it (too old and valuable) and that bugged me. Plus each time I looked at him I saw how much he cost.

Sold him (at a loss compared to what I paid, go fig) and bought a KO Predaking.

I like the KO. Sure the quality sucks, but he was CHEAP and a deal.

My only other regret is painting Movie Jazz as one of my first kitbash projects. I was new to it and used the wrong type of paint, ended up with too much paint applied unevenly and I can't really salvage it. He's not gawd-awful, but I get a twang of regret looking at him. I learned a lot though. I might replace him with a Premium series Jazz...

Re: Collection regrets (the other side)...

Alright, lets see:

From Beast Wars:
Surpreme Cheetor- I was VERY excited for this guy when he came out. The fisrt one I spoted I bought, but later was very disapointed. Not only was the toy just ok, it later went on sale and I could have spent far less on him...

The Che and Mechatron (beast Riders)- Not even sure why I bought these. Not only was the concept lame, but the toys blew. Thank good they didn't do anymore, could have been another Action masters...

Fropm universe:
King Atlas- Ugh, where do I even start. A very good example of why I don't collect g1 figures...

3" Titanium
- All of them- I really should have stayed away from these things. Sure some are kinda neat, but overall all, to expensive for a crappy statue.

Thankfully I have been happy with most of my transfomer purchases, but I have a butt load of other toys that SUCK hard. WTF was I thinking....

Case in point, Alsmost everything on this shelf.

Re: Collection regrets (the other side)...

The Movie figures. Even though I kept things limited and only bought the core cast that actually appeared (sans micro Bonecrusher), I still kind of regret it. I never liked the designs back when they were being leaked out and I still don't like them now. I justified buying the figures because I thought they'd be a good time-stamp of sorts, but it never occurred to me until a year later that these movie toys will never have the same glory as, say, the original Star Wars toys do/did. Meaning, I know I'll never pull these things out in 20 years with fond memories. If anything, it'll just remind me of how wrong things went once Michael Bay got ahold of the franchise. I'm currently debating whether or not to sell all of them, or just keep Prime & Megs and get rid of the rest.

I'm still on the fence about Animated. I've bought the key size classes of everything released so far minus Blackarachnia, and while I do like the figures, I still can't help but feel they're a little too Playskool when looking at them next to stuff like Alternators, Classics, etc. So we'll see what happens...

Re: Collection regrets (the other side)...

These.

Also, Telemocha Beast Wars Megatron. Shellformer, stubby little arm that you can't pose, tail claw that won't stay attached in robot mode and can't be pointed in any direction other than sideways, frowny-face headsulpt that seems completely out-of-character for the guy, especially when you consider the fact that the Robot Masters mold that this figure was redecoed from was made quite a few years after Beast Wars aired.

Plus he's shorter than Telemocha Primal. What's up with that?

I should've passed on him and looked for a Deluxe BW10A Megatron instead.

The Primal was cool, though. I don't like the paint job on his face but the rest of the figure is pretty decent.

Re: Collection regrets (the other side)...

Bought a commemorative StarScream from Toys Toys Toys at a retarded price, only because I could not find one from TRU and did not have an ebay account at the time
