The building quality must scare the shit out of Japanese, so they are clearance this toy now.

I have my MT Hound, won't bother to buy it even at half price.
MP-46 was 40% off not that long after the release, don't read too much into it.

Re: Amazon.ca Transformers Sightings

Mine broke after the second transformation, kind of glad it did. It never sat right with me the price I paid and in-hand quality. Anybody return anything to AMJ before?

Sad to see many with broken parts on their MP Hound, Takara really need to do something about their quality at this point.

The basic process is similar to any amazon return except that you have to pay for return shipping and send customer service the invoice which they will refund. That's pretty much it. Oh, they refund up to 12000 yen for return shipping.

Unfortunately my CC is not forex fee free and I will have to incur the >3% loss on both refunds (shipping & item), so I will be losing in the end.

My mistake, right? My gut told me to stay away or at least wait until reviews came in for mp-47. Despite taking a loss on the transaction, I'm glad I returned it and with all the similar returns, I do hope Takara gets the message (although, I doubt they will..)

I really had trouble reconciling quality vs price paid this time around, and if this is Takara's strategy moving forward, they can keep their inflated second-rate plastic toys and I'll divert my funds to more fruitful hobby in the future.

REALLY sad when you remember that the car bots used to only run about $60 with shipping. Grapple & Inferno were about $100. I remember cringing at $125 for Shockwave. The prices are out of control.

Granted, Hound is FAR more complex than Sideswipe or Prowl were.

(Which by the same token is kinda why he's got issues; more complexity means more places the QC can go wrong)
