At the risk of sounding like an old man, but I remember when deluxes used to cost about $9. And we had basics, not scouts, basics that cost around $5. And then there were megas. Those your $20 figures.

Re: HFTD $$ diff

Are you saying that the price went up to 17.99 before taxes or what? I'm not sure why you're complaining, Deluxes have been 15.92/15.99$ since at least 2007 if I remember correctly.

That price really isn't such a big deal compared to the 19.99$ price that Real Canadian Superstore was charging for deluxes when they upped the price there.

And we all know certain toys will hang around until the big sales in the summer and christmas time so really there's no reason to get upset. Now if we had to pay 20$ for a deluxe or even 30$ for a deluxe figure like the prices seem to be in Europe and Australia then I'm sure we'd have a right to complain.

The fact of life is, cost of living and cost of frivolous things like toys will continue to rise. When you're forty-nine + like our parents are you'll probably still be complaining about the prices, but believe me it's going to be a hell of a lot worse when we all reach that age compared to these glory days of toy collecting. (And yes despite the mark-up from when we were kids the prices are still in the glory days. Because we haven't reached dystopian future prices yet.)

Deluxe prices range from 14.99 to 18.99 depending on the line and where you are buying it from.

Standard deluxe price was $14.92 until about a year ago they went up to $15.92 (around the same time in the US they went up from $9.99 to 11.99 & 12.99 at Target and Wal-Mart). Anything other than that is a deviation due to sale/clearance.

Re: HFTD $$ diff

Standard price for at least the last two years, and really not something to complain about. Check out the running prices on some of the other action figures. When you consider that you have to shell out 10 bucks for a 3 3/4 inch figure of Spider-Man or Luke Skywalker, pitching in an extra 6 to get a figure that's usually an extra two inches in bot mode, transforms and turns into a car or truck or tank - that ain't bad man.

Also, Hasbro has nothing to do with what you're paying at the store. That isn't standard regulated. The stores decide what they're going to charge, which is why the prices vary from Wal-Mart to Toys 'R Us to Zellers.

And besides, Wal-Mart has there $10 Deluxe sale/rollback at least four times a year, often times running for a month atta time. It's just a game of whether you want to wait the extra few weeks and chance the figures still being in stock in save 6 bucks a pop.
