Reviewing the posts, I believe he is correcting the poster above, who suggested the 20% sale would apply to the Refraktor set

Which it shouldn't, the sale was for all TFs 69.99 & under, and Refraktor set is 99.99

Maybe the poster thought they were discussing the individual release Refraktors? If so, it would have totally applied there

Re: The Refraktors Dilemma

Ahh, thanks for the clarification. I'm getting slow in my old age (not that I'm that quick to begin with). Thanks again.

I find that the 100$ price tag is really a great example of the overpricing and the figures themselves are SMALL, probably the smallest "deluxe" in this series, and the extras for the single figures is just not enough the balance the price.

But as much as I hate to say it, I still got the set, and setting the price tag aside, I am enjoying it.

The one thing that really sold me with it is that the figure do have potential and many have showed alternative modes to combine them (as per my previous post of a combined ship mode).

The set's extra parts are excellent for the camera mode, but do lack options for the robots, the flash could have been made into a rocket launcher, and the black handle into wings, or better shield..something, anything)

Again, with just about all Siege, the empty sockets bugs me, a few things that would have been cheap and simple to do could have make this (these) toy(s) 10x better, but still.. the better quality plastic makes up in part for it.

I don't have the MFT set so I can't compare, but with Siege, my standard saying is "I don't regret having the figure, I'm actually very happy to have it, but I do regret that it did cost that much".

Yeah I thought we were talking about the individual ones, which are (were now) 20% off. The set has not been on discount to date.

Actually that’s what made my decision in the end: I was lucky to get 3 individual Refraktors at TRU during the 20% off sale, making it ~$72 for the 3 purple individuals vs $99 for the set. Plus I can’t resist the purple cartoony look (I never had the G1 set nor did any of my local friends).

Except for attaching the weapon and lens, that's the same thing I had done earlier. Now I did attach them so I don't have to buy two more.

Re: The Refraktors Dilemma

-I doubted the availability of the individual Reflectors at
TRU, due to box distribution.
-Missed buying the 3-individuals from Ages 3 & Up
-considered Amazon.ca, not bad price and free shipping
-couldn't believe he showed up at TRU recently and not gobbled by the scalpers.
-got lucky and bought 2 at TRU! Reg price but still cheapest of all previously considered options.
-I am a two-thirds happy camper!

Enjoy my fan mode.
My buddy asked me if I would make 2/3 of camera mode.
TF morally, I think I'll wait for all 3, although no reservations about individual camera modes!!

That is clearly not a plan for the backburner.
