Revenge of the Fallen
Deluxe
Breakaway & Thrust

FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH

Breakaway was the premiere mold, there was a darker variant, then there was Thrust. Got it?

You can see their heads in vehicle mode, rather clearly.

http://images.wikia.com/transformers...d/Tf_sound.ogg

I don't have all that much to say about these guys, other than BUY THEM

Please note that these have been modified, out of the box they cannot turn their heads.

"Why won't you play with me?"

Breakaway = sadface

This is how decepticons play, Breakaway.

Beast Wars
Mega/Voyager
B'Boom

This toy was released as two different characters in two different lines using the exact same deco and no remolding. The Japanese version from BW2 is Apache.

This guy is a walking contradiction.

In that his beast mode is a Mandrill, his name is B'Boom (baboon), and his function is Guerrilla Warfare specialist.

While the Madnrill and Baboon are close, the gorilla is a distantly related primate from the Hominids (chimps, humans).

Anyway, fiddle with his eyes, ears, or jaw, and you'll find that he goes from

To

Via a geared mechanism in his head.

But whats that stuck in his throat? Well...

If you slide this forward...

And you move one of the missles flanking the cannon into the cannon...

And slide the lever back and forth again, you get yet another projectile puke attack. BW loved those. (B'Boom, Magmatron, Megatron, Quickstrike, Jetstrom...)

There's also this mode. Battle station? Monkey tank? Who knows? Lots of guns, though. And you can get a basic to ride it.

http://images.wikia.com/transformers...d/Tf_sound.ogg

Well, he does look suitably like a commando with his rifle, missile banks, and... anti air guns? Not the mention the spare missile/antenna coming out of his back.

We need to get more heads like this.

So freaking badass.

Beast Wars
Basic/Scout
Claw Jaw

Oh yes, tentacles.

This toy was released as Claw Jaw, Transmetal Claw Jaw in the UK, and Ikard and Scuba in Japan. 4 decos, still only one release over here.

What's this? Well, push it in!

http://images.wikia.com/transformers...d/Tf_sound.ogg

Such... good... proportions...

The gimmick is still active in this mode. His chest can chew you up and spit you out.

Jall Boints!

Beast Wars
Basic/Scout
Armordillo

My Armordillo has only one of his back feet/weapons. As such, i think it's better to pretend that he's hiding them than to have him gimped.

(If anyone is feeling generous, I still need the mace weapon/foot...)
(Actually, at that, I could use another pair of both feet 3 altogether, who's feeling like it's the season of giving all over again? )

Pointy teeth for such a creature. Can't say I recall seeing an armadillo eating meat... but then again, this is ArMORdillo.

http://images.wikia.com/transformers...d/Tf_sound.ogg

FLIPCHANGE!

I wish he had ankles of some kind, or at least bigger feet. I can get over the hands.

(foot part of gun is away because if he isn't going to wear it, he isn't going to shoot with it)

I love this smirk.

TUCK AND ROLL!

*pew pew*

For shame dude, for shame... This is the bulk of my BW collecting days. I mean...

1996
Cheetor
Dinobot
Optimus Primal/Megatron 2-Pack
Snapper
Armordillo
Razorbeast (I'm still looking for his weapon by the way, he looks stupid in beast mode without it.)
Insecticon
Iguanus
Terrorsaur
Megatron

Sadly I failed at owning most of the show characters, by the time I got back into Beast Wars because of the show (Star Wars having sucked my TF interest away when my dad introduced it to me.) there were just too many toys to collect and I could only cajole/beg my parents for so much. It took years before I finally had the Tarantulas, Waspinator, Rhinox and Tigatron molds as well as Scorponok. (Anybody got spare missiles for him I could use, or maybe a Cyberbee that actually will stay in claw mode. If you remove the spring inside of him will he stay in claw mode or forever remain in Cyberbee mode???)

1997
Airazor
Claw Jaw (Mine doesn't have tight joints like Nocturne's... Maybe I should try that Nailpolish trick on his arms socket joints???)
Snarl
Lazorbeak
Powerpinch
Spittor
Drill Bit
Razorclaw (Sadly I sold him off, but I really dig both decos of this mold and intend to buy him again.)
Grimlock (GPS has started to affect him a little, be wary of this dude.)
K-9
Bonecrusher
Cybershark
Jetstorm
Retrax
Manterror
B'Boom
Inferno
Transquito
Magnaboss
Tripredacus
Magnaboss (Yep I somehow managed to get two of him, I don't even know why I wanted two, maybe cause he was so cool. Traded the duplicate for BW II Tonbot and BW Neo Stampy back in the day.)

1998
Airhammer
Noctorro
Bantor
Quickstrike
Buzzclaw
Terragator
Silverbolt
Injector
Skyshadow
Torca (I'm nervous about all that gold plastic on this dude.)
Airazor W/Video
Razorclaw W/Video
TM Airazor
TM Rattrap
TM Waspiantor
TM Terrorsaur
TM Tarantulas
TM Optimus Primal
TM Megatron
Scavenger
Depth Charge
Rampage (I lost one of his missiles, does anybody have a spare?)
Optimal Optimus

1999
Sonar
Spittor
Scarem
Optimus Minor
Stinkbomb? (I can't recall if I got him from Galaxy Comics at this time or later.)
TM 2 Cheetor
TM 2 Prowl
TM 2 Prowl variant
TM 2 Dinobot
TM 2 Dinobot variant
Jawbreaker
TM 2 Iguanus
Ramulus
TM 2 Cybershark
TM 2 Megatron
Tigerhawk
Fox Kids TM Rattrap
Fox Kids TM Rhinox
Fox Kids TM Airazor
Icebird
Poison Bite
Razor Claw
Soundwave

The Beast Wars was a great time, I got my first job around TM/TM2 years working at my high school cafeteria during lunch and made enough money to get lots of the figures my parents refused to buy anymore.
I never found Blackarachnia at retail, it took a few years later during the Armada days I think that I got her along with the Fox Kids Rhinox mold. (My first ever Rhinox, he wasn't show accurate, but he was neat.)

It was a great time in my life... still a beloved series. The stuff Nocturne is discovering now about Beast Wars I always knew. And playtime was loads of fun, my limited G2 and G1 collection would always get involved and the battles of the Beast Wars would play out.

Back when we hadn't seen the Transmetals on the show yet I would pretend that a strange anomaly opened up and sucked up all the Transmetallized characters. (Since I didn't have Rattrap or Optimus' original bodies I kind of fudged it with them. It was kind of cool though having Bat Optimus fighting T-Rex Megs.)
Why did I throw out the mini-comic from the two pack though? UGH.
Razorclaw's two forms would be merged to create Rampage... it was all very creative. The Beast Wars really inspired my imagination, not so much some of the later stuff as I kind of grew out of playing and acting out with my toys. But the Beast Era was some of the best fun I ever had.

At one point I had doubles of Airhammer and Bantor for custom jobs I wanted to try out, but I kind of got discouraged in the custom department early on because I couldn't really figure out what to do. Or what to use. I wanted to turn Bantor into a Predacon called Frenzy... I forget what I wanted to do with Airhammer. (They were even the UK versions I picked up doubles of. I think I traded some spare Pokemon Promo cards from the first movie release for them.)

Anyway... I always knew Beast Wars was cool, it just took me a couple of months to a year to remember it when the Evil Empire swooped in and stole my Transformers attention away. And I owe it all to turning on YTV the day they said a new show was coming on called Beasties. (I was like, Beasties, what in the world is that about?) As soon as those opening credits came on with the Transformers logo I was hooked, pretty damn excited for like a thirteen/fourteen year old too at the time.
