TF:TM on Bluray?? (Animated... not live action)
When did this come out?
... and more importantly, when are we getting a North American release?

Can't find any sign of a NA release. Looks like it's readily available in UK only..
Not too sure if this would be any better in BR vs DVD due to the poor quality of film to start. BR might just make the imperfection more obvious..

Well, as soon as the north american version is released, if there ever is one, then I am buying a PS3! (why have JUST a blu-ray player? heh)

That was released back in June or July. Dak is correct that it's a Metrodome release. I have the DVD version, but never watched it, so I can't confirm if it's the Sony version, but it's a safe assumption. It has not been released on Blu-ray in North America.

Re: TF:TM on Bluray?? (Animated... not live action)
I wonder if the Unicron scene at the beginning looks better, the part with all the chunks of the planet being gobbled up with the flashing red. That's the only part of the movie that I notice massive blocking on the DVD versions. Hopefully they use lower compression on the Blu-Ray version thus improving the quality of that particular scene.

Re: TF:TM on Bluray?? (Animated... not live action)
The BLuRay/HD war ended alot sooner in europe than here, like the instant the PS3 came out. That might explain the gap in the releases, well if it does get released.

Apparently this is a must own for fans of the 86 film. I know I am getting it. Seems to have eliminated all the problems with the new Sony release too (I.E. Audio issues, Color Issues, Macro-blocking, etc ...).

What are you guys waiting for? It plays on the PS3 since its a regionless blu-ray. Also, please note they have released the DTS 5.1 audio track for it on this disc. So, it is the best Audio you will probably ever get for this flic.

I agree. I never bothered with a game system, but now that Blu-ray is the clear winner, I'd pick up a PS3 if TF came out on blue ray. Then I can watch Spike say "Oh sh*t!" in high def.
