I got offered one privately for $105 shipped, I said no. I only paid $25 to get my Snarl early, I don't see myself paying more than $35-40 for an unreleased deluxe at this point, loose or carded.
And astrana, the bidder you're talking about is none other than the seller himself/herself bidding on his/her own auctions to raise the price OR to "cancel" the auction by winning it and then claiming the fees back. Why? Let me explain.
Apparently, there is only ONE guy (rarely sells on Ebay) providing TF samples to ALL the Chinese sellers (that includes masuya, heerotoymaker, spx, jenny/menasor1979, etc.). The thing is, menasor1979 is oftentimes listing items he/she doesn't have in stock yet. That was the case with the recent Ultra Magnus (and several other toys in the past). The guy told me he actually refused to sell to menasor1979 because he/she was too slow to pay. He didn't have any more Magnus in stock anyway. He had only 5, he sold 4 to masuya and kept one for him. I guess menasor1979 was maybe hoping to offer him even more money for his last one, but in vain. Whenever you see menasor1979 bidding on his/her own auctions with his alt. ID, it probably means that A) he/she's trying to raise the price B) he/she doesn't have the item in stock. Lame game if you ask me.
