Talking TMNT Discussion Thread (Spoilers,of course)

So,as everyone knows,TMNT just premiered today both at Nickelodeon and at YTV early this morning.

So what does everyone think so far?

I thought it was different. It wasn't great but it I did enjoy it. I enjoyed the humour but the way the turtles looked with the eyes turned me off a bit.
The relationship with Don and April is something I'll wait to see play out. Thought she'd be a bit older too
Excited about Krang

I actually enjoy the difference.Growing up from the 90s films to the 2003 TMNT,I'm more than willing to embrace the fresh interpretations of the classic story of four mutants against a armour clad ninja (Be it human or alien).

I personally don't mind the eyes.It makes them more younger (Not to mention referring to the 80s series and 90s film respectively),but what turns me off a bit was the two scenes where they transfer to the classic Mirage/2003 set of eyes. Was that really necessary?Didn't make sense to me.

I seem to be very sceptical on the whole shipping between Donnie and April.Out of all the turtles,it makes complete sense why the writers chose him,but it makes me wonder if they'll try something different with this shipping. My biggest concern is how the love triangle will be played out between him,April, and Casey (That is if he'll appear)

The Kraang I found the most interesting.I never really seen how the original was in the 80s cartoon, and I hated him in Turtles Forever, but being a race of aliens is pretty surprisingly well played at the moment, but, there's still a long way to go to make them as distinguished as the Utron.

Not bad, I'll watch it for awhile and see how it goes. I remember reading the original black and white comics in the 80s, so I hate to see them 'color' coded and what not. But for a first ep it wasn't bad.

I enjoyed it. Was kinda of odd hearing the original Rafs voice actor playing Donatello. Kept throwing me off. Why couldn't he just reprise the role of Raf.

Was decent, will keep my head up on this one. It's a bit hard to be going from IDW turtles to this though, such almost extremes on the scale.

So far so good. I am curious if they can keep the momentum in the long run.

Re: TMNT Discussion Thread (Spoilers,of course)

I loved it. To me, this is the Animated Transformers of the TMNT universe.

Pros:
The look: Animation and style is great. I love how the Turtles are all different hights and have a signature look. I love the anime inspired stuff in there too. The action is also top notch and really fun to watch.
The voice acting: The VA is spot on. Rob Paulson (Don) is more well know as Raf, but I feel he is better suited to do a nerdy type character like Don. Both Raph and Leo are voiced by great actors and mikey is spot on.
The tone: It is both beliveable and fun at the same time. It does a much better job of this than the new Ultimate spiderman cartoon. I actually laughes out loud after splinter was going to meditate on who the leader was going to be and came back with Leo after 2 seconds.

Cons: Nother major. Not sure I love the whole idea that every week is a different Mutant monster to fight, but perhaps that is only a starting point. Another small issue that I had was that it is clear that the turtles have Cable and watch TV, yet they don't know was Pizza was? Minor I know, but still, kinda odd.
