Re: New Transformers G1 Commemorative Series Listing in Toys R Us Canada Computers

I missed out on Dirge the first time around, so I'm hoping for a re-release.

But my vote goes to G1 Devastator, or
Thrust, or
Ramjet, or
Insecticons!

I just hate to pay the insane/scalping prices on ebay for the Takara Reissue Insecticons, so this is what I really, really, really want.

I doubt it will be Soundwave since he was still clogging up store shelves a little while back.

My money is on Starscream. Price point seems to be about right for him. Also his last reissue at TRU was done prior to the first Bay movie. I'm betting they would want to cash in on the eventual rise in TF popularity with people who grew up on G1 when ROTF comes out. Since aside from Optimus and Megatron, he's one of the other iconic characters that people might feel compelled to purchase when that rush of nostalgia kicks in.

Hoping against hope that it's something cool but rare... like part 1 of a Dreadwing combo or something!

Yeah I remember Starscream getting re-released quite a few years ago at toysrus. They were hard to find so I bought up a couple to put up on ebay. Managed to sell one at cost and I gave the other one to my friend as a gift. Kinda regret selling it.

Looks like it could end up being this new Soundwave reissue with 4 tapes:

I'm pretty sure it was already announced that it'll be Perceptor and the Insecticons, and that the Soundwave is a SDCC Exclusive.

This would make sense but wasn't there only one sku in the TRU system for $50? The insecticons and perceptor aren't going to be $50 for the package so they'll probably have separate skus.

That packaging makes me think that it's not just an SDCC exclusive though...hopefully we get more info out of botcon.
