No, just too soon for a sequel after the first one. Some people are concerned that making a second game so soon is going to take away from the first game - fewer updates, less new content, fewer players.

From the same publisher as TeamFortress 2 and theTF2 has regular map and content updates every few months. They had planned the same for L4D, but when it came time to add they deceided that to implement the new content they need to start from scratch again. They announced it less than an year after the first release too.
