3860 yen for shipping, and Menasor cost me 12,000 yen. Total of 15,860 yen...I'm not sure of the exchange rate for CDN at the time, I'll check out my paypal statement.
But the difference is negligible, wow. For the extra customer service I'll try HLJ next year. I'm in pretty deep with AE for now, though. I hope it all goes well (and I'm pretty sure it will).
Oh, and no fees at the border with Menasor from HLJ.

About to place the preorders with NY, couple of questions. Bit of a virgin here. Are you charged up front at NY? Pay in CDN with PayPal? Is shipping combined?

You can pay later. Yes you can pay in CND with PayPal. Don't understand your question about shipping. If you buy both, yes it's combined but...Your Hot Rod will not ship until Shockwave is in stock. I ordered mine separately.

I chose seperate small packet with tracking and insurance. It's 4000 yen for both. I chose pay later with Canadian currency. Not sure if I am doing everything right to get the cheapest possible though.

Going to try NY.
I ordered a HR, SW, plus an MP Ultramagnus. Shipping was around $65. All in, I think it'll be around $400. Does anyone know the benefits of splitting a pre-order vs. keeping it all together?
I would prefer to pay for each item as it's available, but have it all shipped together to avoid excessive shipping costs.
Any advice would be awesome!

I think putting together a combined shipment of that size will add to the chances that customs will open it and you'll get dinged. That's just me, though. You really don't have anything to lose, though, because even with customs you're getting a far better deal than you ever would going domestic.

Not really. N-Y marks the value low if you request it, which is one of the reasons I use them.
