It is a shame, but all you can really do is learn from it. I'd make it a rule to have a calculator and pen+paper on hand and double-check from now on.

I personally wouldn't do future business with someone who took advantage of a math error like that, but once it's done it's done and all you can do is learn from it.

Re: Possible ripoff with one of the members here

It isn't up to the buyer to make sure that the Seller has his crap together. It is the sellers responsibility to make sure prices and amounts are accuate. And if they aren't then that isn't the buyers problem. I don't know if it's my years in retail, but no business would suddenly call someone up because an item was wrung up wrong.

Or if there was an error on a item that you brought and it is rang up as a larger amount. That is an error on them and they are obligated to give you the item for the price it's marked for.

If I was the buyer and you contacted me, I'd be the same way. As soon as money and product changes hands that's it, done. You can't go back digging for money, it's rude and unprofessional. I'd be shocked if the buyer does business with you again.

Re: Possible ripoff with one of the members here

Don't mean to sound as an asshole and I've moved on from that mistake knowing that nothing can be done. I've always kept spreadsheets and prices.

The one time I let somebody in my house and price on the spot, I make a mistake. Guess I'm not doing that again. Normally, I ask what they want and prep everything so they have to come in. (dog makes it harder too)

I've eaten costs before but nothing as big as 1/4 of the entire cost. It is apparent that it was my mistake (and mentioned it right at the beginning of the thread) and was asking for input from other people. Because of your input I stopped pursuing it right away.

Do you see me going on and on about it? I just said that I've charged it to experience and moved on.

Then we all agree you were not ripped off, and this thread can be closed. As well the title changed to "My mistake cost me $100".

A tutorial for others to learn from lol.

No Jok. Not ' guess won't do it again'

'I won't do it again. I've become a wiser, better seller from my mistake. '
