Hasbro's people basically lost their mind about the color and price.
Soon we will see a pink my little pony version Trypticon, cost about 400.

$75 is reasonable. $120 for inexplicable colors --- which are not going to appeal to older collectors, the primary platinum target market --- is ludicrous.
The entire platinum line is a fucking wasteland. TRU can't move the wildly overpriced Insecticons, the laser prime in goofy colors has also been on clearance for months now. Soundwave seems to sell ok but still languishes. At best they overcharge for reissues people want. They don't offer deals, as the platinum aoe Dinobot reveal --- $40 a toy for two voyagers and three deluxes.
And of all this, TRYPTICON is only $189 on amazon. That.. Is actually amazing when you look at what a complete TRYPTICON will run you.
My brain hurts.

They are still just $16.99 - $20 figures at best... nobody should be forking out anything more than $40 for the entire set... "Platinum" refers to the material the strap-on is made with that they use on customers.
