Re: Biggest letdown of the year

I believe that a flop can be described by the consumer and have a different meaning than it would to the ones marketing it.

Much in the way I would call the Bayformers a flop. It's certainly a money maker.

To me Hasbro Bluestreak isn't a flop at all, yet there seem to be more of them than people are buying.

Devastator. I was so looking forward to this but in the end passed on him because it didn't measure up to my expectations after having bought most of the Combiner Wars line.

Tracks is cool. You should really try it out. I'm now looking forward to Ironhide. These things can't be accurately judged by pics!

Ok so you're talking flop as in fandom love, I see. I don't think it is universally pandered nor loved. Based on the opinions here, i would think it is more liked than disliked so I wouldn't call it a flop, but once again it isn't a definitive barometer by any means.

I would guess that takara uses retail sales as the primary guage of success and our opinions secondary

I'm loving MP Tracks now that I have him in-hand. He's such a dynamically poseable, personality-rich figure. The robot mode is slightly taller (head to toe) than the Nissan brothers, which looks appropriate.

Re: Biggest letdown of the year

Biggest letdown of the year for me was when I realized what I've spent this year. $3000+ is a LOT of money, and the vast majority went to 3p. I don't think I can keep that up.

Too bad, I can honestly say I'm not disappointed with him at all.

Re: Biggest letdown of the year

If we're talking in general, the biggest letdown of the year for me so far was the moment I realized I will have to sit out most, if not all, of Titans Return due to budgetary concerns.

The rest of the year though has been great - the CW deluxes and voyagers have been a lot of fun, leaders Megatron and Magnus really made me happy, and I liked Devastator far more than I thought I would!
