Re: Alternators Mirage: new in package

Alternators Smokescreen (the first one) was given to me as a Christmas present about 4 or 5 years ago.

I hadn't bought any TFs, or had any inclination to buy any TFs in 10-15 years before that.
Now... oh man... Well, I have a complete Cybertron line now.. not to mention dozens and dozens, and went to 2 TFCons, posters, comic books, the City Commander Armor...

Alternator Smokescreen was a floodgate. Just one Alternator. So much financial devastation.

Re: Alternators Mirage: new in package

The Alternators/Binaltechs were what got me back into Transformers several years ago. I ended getting all of them, like many others here. Maybe it's not a bad thing that they're not making them anymore because I don't have to afford them anymore.

Re: Alternators Mirage: new in package

I still remember finding the end cap with Hound, Deadend, Tracks and Silverstreak for 10 bucks at WM. 40 for Mirage is a good deal though.

what you can do is check Ebay for Alternator lot and binaltech lot
Given the number of figures included, you're mostly likely going to spend a lot more than that collecting them individually. BT-17 and BT-18 will likely cost you around $1000 just for the two of them (if you're lucky enough to find someone selling a BT-17), and some of the other BTs are over $100 now. I'm glad I got most of them when they first came out. I can't imagine trying to collect all the BTs and Alts now!

One figure eludes me though that I should have looked harder for before... does anyone have a RHD Silverstreak for sale, for a reasonable price??

Exactly. I ended up selling all my Alternators to replace them with Binaltech, completing the swap with the purchase of BT-18, all plastic but cool as hell. Costly procedure but well worth it. Yellow Tracks, Laserwave and BT-22 are really cool too. The only Alternators I kept were Ravage XK and Rumble because they had no BT counterpart.
