Takara Tomy MP-39 Masterpiece Sunstreaker Box Images

Via TaoTaoToys On Weibo*we have our first images of Takara Tomy MP-39 Masterpiece Sunstreaker Box. The yellow Autobot comes in a black box similar to previous MP Autobot cars, with a* picture of the*Lamborghini Countach LP500S car mode*and the impressive robot mode in the front of the box, while the back features the accessories, gimmicks and a small shot next to MP Sideswipe. One interesting thing to notice is that the robot mode in the front of the box is posing in a way that resembles the classic G1 Box Art. We are sure fans will appreciate this nod » Continue Reading.

The more I've seen of this figure, the more I can't understand how the backpack can be such a kibbly mess. I'm still excited to get Sunstreaker in hand, though.

As far as i understand it, part of the agreement with Lamborghini was that an alt mode must represent a stock version of the car as it came off the line. So the choice to have the engines intakes be able to transform inside of the car to achive this and not be a partsformer resulted in kibble for bot mode.
It's interesting that the alt mode will have 2 versions of transformation, but IMO, it's a case of red tape getting in the way of what the consumer wants. Oh well. People will either buy it ir they won't.

That is just Takara's obsession to recreate screen accuracy as much as possible - down to the back kibble!

If Sunstreaker didn’t have the back kibble people would be saying it’s not cartoon accurate. With the kibble people are asking why is there kibble lol. I’m just glad we’re getting an MP Sunstreaker. Sunsurge who? Lol
