I was really hoping to avoid the Animated line -- to save some $$. I was going to "just pick up Prime".

Then the show rocked.

And the figures rocked.

And now I have two shelves of the buggers.

Seriously though, the figures are fantastic. Great cartoon likenesses, great transformations. I really enjoy how well they managed to pull of a very curved, stylized look for these guys.

Re: Do you ever buy a figure only because everyone wants it?

I think the only think I ever let myself buy due to hype was HA!BB, but, even then, I still didn't pick him up until he was on sale, and in hindsight, it wasn't so much hype as it was my reading/watching sterling reviews for him and deciding "Y'know, I should probably get him." Aside from that, I get what I want. Unfortunately, I'm obsessive and suffer from Completism, so as far as RotF went, I preeeetty much have every deluxe.

Except for Brawn and Lockdown, the ones I really bloody wanted. Figures, eh?

Animated was...kind of funny. That was my gateway into collecting. I only intended on buy Blackarachnia, but then I got Jazz and Soundwave, and then Grimlock was on sale...and then it was one thing after another after another until present day, where I'm maybe 3 figures from completing Animated. Mold-wise, anyway. 8B

I'm gonna try to be more choosy in the future, but what with the new stuff being pretty impressive, so far, I might just end up choosing...everything. Derp. 8B

Also, I blame Vangelus. >_>

ya i totally felt the hype with ROTF Ice cream twins!! BIG MISTAKE for me. I hate those twins. What a waste of money and the movies CGI. Till this day i don't know a single kid who likes those twins. I just ended up giving it to my friends son, he's 5. lolzz!!

And now im feeling this way with WFC Prime and BB. grrrrr

Get it, you won't regret it. Maybe Bumblebee if you get annoyed with the transformation, but he looks awesome and proper.

My only gripe with Prime is that Hasbro didn't make him a Voyager.

Yes and that's exactly what's preventing me from breaking down and buying him. Im not a fan of deluxe size Primes. That's just me. I guess he just feels like he's lacking "umph" at a deluxe size.
I must have seen this prime a dozen times and i just couldn't do it.

If he was voyager i would buy him tomorrow!

Ah ic. Well look at it this way: Prime is going to be in scale with Megatron. And the chances of Hasbro releasing a Voyager version is very slim to none, otherwise they would of come out in their own line. Besides he's on sale at TRU right now.

I prefer Voyager-sized Prime as well, but the current Generations Deluxe version is not bad so, I bought one!

I only collect 1984-1986 but I want Fortress Maximus just because everyone else wants him. Does that count?

That's true he will be to scale with megs. But not with the rest of the line.
Ya the is very tempting. But I gotta be picky these days. For money and space reasons.
