I recently missed picking up an exclusive (and now 'elusive') 2010 SDCC Blaster at my local HomeSense by minutes (
MINUTES !!!) and I've been haunted ever since.
My failure got me thinking...is this a trend? Will we see unsold
SDCC 2011 exclusives at HomeSense in the near future or was Blaster's appearance an anomoly? I suspect the latter as Blaster may have been overpriced from the get go (~$60 USD each) and, let's face it, he's not as beloved as his Decepticon counterpart Soundwave so a lot of units may not moved during last year's Con and from hasbrotoyshop.com.
But if we are witnessing the first of an annual culling of unsold Hasbro SDCC exclusives through the most unlikely retailer in Canada then perhaps we can compile our wishlist now.
In a perfect world I'd like to walk into HomeSense around July 2012 and pickup the GI Joe Skystriker redco'd as Starscream with Cobra Commander pilot and Megatron gun for $19.99. Heck, I'll even take the Indiana Jones giftset just for the improved sculpt of Indy from Raiders!
