You are, of course, correct on the prices of the original TRU Commemorative Series But then if the new Commemorative Series G1 car, say, Ironhide, is $39.99 (or even @ $49.99 why should I wait for the TRU Hasbro version? The Encores can be had NOW for about the same price or cheaper, for instance, I got a G1 Trailbreaker from Automaton Toys for $35.99 just a month or so ago.

Of course Metroplex is out for that price... may be not Sky Lynx I guess it will be the seekers...

You can get Encore Trailbreaker from online sources like Automaton Toys for less than $49.99 Cadn

I'd love to but I don't think we will see a Commemorative Series Wheeljack unless they are getting ahead of TakaraTomy... possible but not probable.

Re: New Transformers G1 Commemorative Series Listing in Toys R Us Canada Computers

I really hope this is a sign of a return of the Commemorative series. I missed out on the first wave of it because I foolishly assumed they were going to release the combiner teams eventually and wanted to save my money for them... but I got a few of the Commemorative toys at TFcon this year and I am very pleased with them. So here's hoping!

Re: New Transformers G1 Commemorative Series Listing in Toys R Us Canada Computers

very interesting indeed.
I was thinking... as I remember the commemorative series didn't sell well at all, and they had a 1/2 price clearance where I picked up most of them. Even at $17 for smokescreen/ grapple toys toys toys couldn't seem to get rid of them on the secondary market.

I'd be surprised if they would continue this as a series... I'm thinking it may be more of a one off??

though I'd absolutely love more classic re-issues!!

Re: New Transformers G1 Commemorative Series Listing in Toys R Us Canada Computers

If I remembered correctly at the end of the original Commemorative Series TRU have to give their remaining stocks away for as low as $5 each (e.g. Hoist). I'm still kicking myself of not picking up a few at that ridiculous price even though I have the same darn things If they priced the new ones inappropriately I'm afraid history will repeat...

Curiouser and curiouser. Is there any way of determining if this is an old listing that's just popped up again? I don't know how this system works.

I thought SRS was just short form of "Series" since it's the commemorative series line.

Maybe they'll release Blaster to complement the most recent release of Soundwave...lol

I'm guessing Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp and Dirge.
Very cool.
Those should never leave the shelves.
