Re: 24 hour walmart
What's stopping you from doing that now? Especially with internet businesses.

People already do. They clean and stock shelves.

Re: 24 hour walmart
I had work for 7 years in a zellers (stopped in 2005) to pay my courses and i remember how borring it was to work on monday or tuesday in evening. Maybe between 5 -8 custummers in last 4 hours before closing except in christmas time. It is probably the same thing in a Walmart. I also work at night for restoking so thers enough job to do between two clients (or one ) . Anyway it's borring too.

Re: 24 hour walmart
It gives us collecters a good oppurtunity to get the rare stuff. They start stocking around tenish, pulling out all their pallets of whatever for the night. Certain scalpers wont be able to monopolize the toy department at 8am each morning. Can't wait.
It does suck for the staff but really only two or three extra staff will likely be working as they already have 10-15 staff working the overnight shift. I worked the midnight shift for three years at Superstore and it wasn't that bad really. You have much more of a social life if single - working midnights as opposed to a 2pm to 10 or 11pm type shift. At least I found I did, it was good having every evening off. You just have to learn to sleep in the morning and early afternoon. That being said I couldn't do it now with a family.
I've made a few finds in the US Walmarts when we roll into a town late and they are stocking up as well.
