Headmaster Mindwipe
I've been keeping my eyes open for a G1 Headmaster Mindwipe of late. I really enjoyed both him and Apeface in their brief season 4 appearances.
So on ebay someone has one MIB for only $599.99. What a steal . No scalper bashing please, but what do you all think when over the top stuff like this pops up?

Re: Headmaster Mindwipe
Just having a look a Lee's price guide(which also should be taken with a grain of salt). Mindwipe MIB is said to be worth $52 there. That sounds a bit light. But eleven times that feel well, silly.
update: Mindwipe is cheap compared to some of the other stuff. MIB Jazz for $1400.00, Target Master Triggerhappy for $900. the list goes on and on. Check out all his stuff on ebay.........and bring your 649 winnings.

Re: Headmaster Mindwipe
Which is why sometimes don't be too shocked at convention prices, some of these guys don't have much to base their prices on, at TFcon, I was buying Battle Beasts and when I asked for prices some guy whipped out his Toyfare guide. Oy..

Re: Headmaster Mindwipe
Do you think price guides are slowly dying and Ebay is setting the standard for prices on older toys? I shouldn't say standard, but it is the only word I can think of at the moment.

Just tell him about how I tried to sham a church out of 12 Battle Beasts for 25 cents.

I think yes, your right. Ten years ago I used to buy price guides to see what something might be worth. Now I pick them up for the pictures of product coming soon and such. I started checking Ebay to guage prices before I even had a computer at my friend's place. I only recently restarted buying Toyfare when it got to $5 at Walmart. Toyfare is about the only thing thats kept up with the exchange rate.

Re: Headmaster Mindwipe
I think eBay does set prices nowadays. But it's not what sellers are asking for it, it's what people are willing to spend on it. So whatever an auction ends at is a good gauge on the market and value.

Re: Headmaster Mindwipe
You can always (if you're in the area) go to Toy Traders in Langley, BC and see if you can find one for a good price. They are usually under $600.
