Re: Why Gobots are cool
Looking back Leader one was a kick ass jet and compared to the seekers was better. Something has to be said about the fact that there were essentially 6 of the same seeker mold, but 6 completely different characters came out from it.
I can't remember too much about the cartoon, but it had the dumbest sound when they were transforming.

Don't worry... you can get it now since Bandai will release an updated version of the Rom Stol figure under the "Soul of Chogokin" line!

I had that! Though it spent more time as an AT-AT than anything else...

Re: Why Gobots are cool
I never really got into Go-bots. Namely due to me being born in 1991, and second, they were gone by the time G2 aired.

True... however if you look at some of the latest scans from Japanese magazines does it matter? It just looks awesome!
It also sounds like Bandai may have plans for other Japanese Machine Robo re-issues from the same animation for the SoC line.

Re: Why Gobots are cool
On a related front the current Toyfare has an article on Gobot's. Good story about their origins and history. Also has a picture of one of my favorites Tux, a limo that transforms into a robot with a top hat. Seeing that styling bot brought back some memories.............

Re: Why Gobots are cool
if hasbro ever has the ability to use the gobot sculpts or something similar to them, i think leader-1, crasher, and a few others would be great to update with modern technology.
as for the show, lets just say its aged as well as the old masters of the universe series.
i never thought the rocklords were a bad concept, just most of them were very poorly executed.
boulder was by far the best out of all of them. so good in fact that i'm surprised they didnt use him as a rough base for the unicron figure in the armada series.
