And for a couple voyager I think Springer and Sandstorm aren't particularly difficult to pull off.

But unlike those crappy upscale legend they're about to unleash, they result in very satisfying robot modes with lots of personality and poseability. It's fun to gab a robot and not have to fiddle with the horrible thin panels of many shell-former like movie toys. I like chunky robots with body parts made of pieces of the altmode ya know?
I do like simple transformations as well. Like the ones you've listed Vehicon and Wheeljack.

Both have a unique transformation to them though which makes them more fun to fiddle with.

Less sumptuous and yes simple transformations are FOC Grimlock, BH Shocky and most probably BH Prime. Toys that once transformed leaves unsatisfied.

Here's another question from my graveyard shift: How many transformers toys are out there? Including repaints, crossovers, exclusive, lucky draw etc...

LOL
Understood, Hasbro. I'll be sure to stalk TRU when the next MP comes out.

..Oh wait. We don't get them here in Quebec. Fuck me, right

I guess my hunch/feelings were right... damn.

But as the brand evolved over the years, the toys became more complex, some involving dozens of steps to complete a single transformation. In the eyes of Brian D. Goldner, Hasbro’s chief executive, they had lost their magic.

“We’ve made incredibly sophisticated robots,” he said, “but it can be like a 1,000-piece puzzle.”

The toys’ streamlined transformations also address the need for instant gratification sought by children today, she said. “A toy like this gets them where they are going faster.”

Hasbro will continue to make complex Transformers for adult fans who have collected the toys since their inception 30 years ago. But the new design is intended to re-engage parents and children, who found the transformations too challenging.

Ohhhh our wallets will get heavier this year. 2014. That's good news.

Unless that last line means that Masterpiece line's growth will get even steeper.

Whatever.

I'm hoping to see more Human Alliance toys in that line. I hope the price does not increase and that the quantities do not decrease in light of this decision.

I'd completely sworn off the movie toys... I didn't like their transformation and most robot modes looked ugly, IMO.

I guess I'll have to re-evaluate that this year. Especially with Dinobots, but honestly, I'm not convinced I'll take the dive, regardless, after seeing that teaser shot of Prime.

Not going for the Supreme Class BH Prime?

Well, that Optimus figure is just a gimmicky figure from a separate line, it's not the mainline Optimus. He has some kind of handle on his back so you can slam the toy on the ground to transform it.

Re: The Montreal/Quebec Local Fans Banter Thread

i dont know why but i have a bad feeling for age of extinction.... i think it wont do that well at the box office as the last one
that feeling also reflects on the toys... just seeing that prime design as cgi and toy do not appeal to me at all....

thank god for masterpieces !!
