New G1 dvd is CHEAPER in Canada!

Definitely picking this up as soon as I see it. As a collector of DVDs/Blu-rays as well as transformers, I really appreciate the season sets, or well packaged full series.

As cool as the Matrix of Leadership set is, I'd have nowhere to put it. Same goes with all of those other really weird-looking and overprices seasons. I appreciate the creativity, but if you buy a lot of TV on DVD/Blu-ray like I do, I can't fit house-shaped, truck-shaped, shopping-bag-shaped boxes on a shelf in any reasonable way.

I got a gift card from Best Buy for my bday last week. I am going to buy the first season just to see if there are any difference in animation/sounds. Since it really is not costing me anything.

Probably keep them as a second copy... well technically a first copy. It'll be wierd having two seperate series of G1 box sets, but what the hell it's not that big a deal. I'll have doubles of Energon and Cybertron episodes once I can get their box sets too.

This is interesting news. I now have to decide what to do with my Rhino box sets. Part of me wants to keep them, but if I end up wanting the Matrix box, which I am still undecided on, I will probably end up selling these Rhino discs off. No sense in keeping them both. And I never knew about the problems and inaccuracies with the Rhino discs before. Now that I do know about them I am a bit pissed about it and and more likely to replace them with the new box set.

I do have a few questions that hopefully someone can shed some light on. I lieu of the issues with the Rhino season boxes, does anyone know if the 2-disc 20th Anniversary edition of The Movie on DVD has any issues similar to the box sets?

Also, does anyone know if the Beast Wars and Beast Machines DVDs by Rhino include any problems that are similar to that of the G1 boxes?

And, anyone know if The Movie will be included in the new Matrix box set?

...if I do sell off the Rhino G1 boxes, I am still keeping the Animation cells that they came with. Those cells are so cool.

I'm going to pick up season 1 from Best Buy. I want to see exactly how "improved" this set really is before I take the jump and pick up the whole series.
