TF Prime RID Bumblebee Review

Haven't seen too many reviews for this guy or much of anything for that matter, but here's my review and my first review on this forum.

I only really picked this guy up because I wanted 2 guns for a Bee and b/c he was on sale and the FE one wasn't. But out of the three RID dlxs I have (SW, CJ, and BB), I enjoy fiddling with him the most.

Vehicle Mode:

Looks alright, minus the some paint issues. Unlike the FE version, you really cant make out much from the windshield. However, he lacks painted rims, the roof and door are a different shade of yellow than the rest of him (not too noticeable), and the rear of the car has no paint (lol). Raf looks a little too tall for the car too.

Transformation:
Simple and easy. Has an automorph for the chest to avoid fiddling with the chest pieces. Does not put the head on the right position unless you push it in yourself with the hinge. For reference, refer to Peaugh's review on Youtube.

Robot Mode:
Mistransformed but better IMO:

Proper Transformation:

In robot mode, if you properly transform this guy and don't lock the head all the way down, then you'll get the mess with the head tilted up and the whole car chest slanted. I mistransform him by not locking the car chest all the way down, the hinge locks in 2 positions, so its not floppy. I also fold the roof behind the chest to keep silhouette of Bee close to the show model.

Action:

This Bee looks good posing with his two guns, and has decent stability on his feet, even though the ankle joint doesn't go side to side. He also does not have a waist joint like the FE Bee and does not look as good in punching poses.

One major gripe with the articulation though:

When either arm is at this level, the shoulder arm will rub against the car chassis and cause a hitch. You can raise the arm still to free it from the hitch, and it does not affect the articulation. What it does do is wear away some plastic where the shoulder armor and car chassis meet. It's not easily noticeable, but it is a major issue with the figure.

All in all, not the worse figure I've encountered, but not the best. He's decent enough, is more in scale with the rest of the RID crew, and comes with two guns. Looking at reviews of both though, I prefer the FE one, but I'm fine with what I have and I don't want another of the same character. Hope you've enjoyed my review!

btw, the extra black detailing on the chest and head is me using a Gundam marker, he lacks alot of paint apps.

If you are talking about Zellers... that's cause Zellers is just a crappy company. Other than that, RiD and TF FE are the same price. Run over to TRU to see.

But I saw in TRu or maybe I just didn't asked them to clarify.

Re: TF Prime RID Bumblebee Review

I picked up him and CJ when they were on sale last week. He's definitely an easier deluxe to transform than most out there but with his simplicity and small size, I probably would have been happier with this guy if they'd shrunk him down just a tiny bit more and made him a Scout. I know there's no scout class anymore but he would definitely fit into that size class well.
