TFCon/Auto Assembly Shared Exclusives [Alternate/Boxart colors]

Hey guys, so I decided to do a quick review/show off my TFCon/Auto Assembly exclusives which I "customized" into their card art versions.

I prefer their card art version for a number of reasons. First off, Z looks way too plain in his original black and white colour scheme. Also, there's just something about X's red and yellow that I don't like. I think it makes him look like some sort of douchey hot shot. Where as in their card art colours, X looks pretty cool with his "Canadian" red and white. And Z's more "European" black and yellow looks surprisingly good too. A very fitting colour scheme for them. Especially if you think of X as the TFCon exclusive and Z as the AA exclusive. Their cards even come with both bios.

What really makes this set work is the chrome. It's the combination of a colored plastic(yellow/red), non-colored plastic(black/white), and chrome really make this set pop!

I'm really digging Z here. If he's to be the Euro exclusive of the two, I just imagine him to have some non-specific foreign accent. Like a German gangster or something.

X has got some character to himself too. Like a lumberjack swings his axe to cut down trees, so too do I imagine X uses his hammer in the same way. My only complains about him are his red visor blending into his red helmet and I wish his cockpit was paint too. I don't see why didn't do that.

Another complaint I have with both these figures is that both their handles for their hammers are stuck together, probably due to the chrome. I've tried everything I can think of short of using tools on it to try and pull them apart. It's not a huge issue, but it's a minor annoyance that you can't store them while in alt mode like they're supposed to.

Overall, I'm in love with these two. I like them more than Roswell and Van Guard. And I find myself continually going back to them. They're just fun little figures to pick up, mess around with, and then set back down again. They're super pose-able and really nicely sculpted. I just wish they put a little bit more paint into them.

If you have a chance to pick these guys up, get them. And if you already have them, try swapping their parts around. It can be pretty painful trying to pry the parts out of their slots, but it's worth it. The only pieces you'll need a screwdriver for are the arms and they're surprisingly the easiest to do.

I did the swap too! Even the UK AA guys there were saying they liked the swapped colours more...AH WELL

As for the handles...ya I had to use pliars to separate mine. It's the chroming process that did wind up fucking them up a little. Either way still sexy chrome and awesome figures.

Re: TFCon/Auto Assembly Shared Exclusives [Alternate/Boxart colors]

I own the original version version, these are the figures/mold of the year. Both figures transform the same way, but they don't feel or look alike. The set comes with a good amount of accessories that all can be stored somewhere (with extra head for Topspin from Last Stand of the Wreckers), made and handled with quality. also this is Mech iDeas first released figures, that goes to show how dedicated they are engineering figures, also there are plans for TF Animated figures from them which I'm very excited for.
