Dude, if you're really that concerned about it, I'd try the boiling water trick before filing it. If you accidentally file too much off, the hands will be too loose and you'll never be able to go back.
Just dunk his hands in some boiling water for a minute or so to soften the plastic, pry his hands open to widen them, then run some cold water over them to solidify. Maybe stick it in the freezer for a few minutes.

Honstly, after I saw Willis' post I checked to see what would even cause such a breakage...... messing with my Bludgeon it seemed like either he is the Incredible Hulk and does not know his own strength, or he just played with the old samurai pretender a LITTLE too much.
