Before Christmas Nemesis wasn't available on Amazon. Or any other online retailer I could find other than this one that is supposedly in Alberta that I'd never heard of (it wasn't TFToys. It was some upscale toy store (like actual toys for little kids, not just a nerd store full of collectibles) that had a shop in a mall somewhere.. There were like 4 Gamestops in BC that said they had limited stock at the time. The first two were inventory errors and they hadn't had any for months, but the 3rd one had 1 left so I ended up panic-buying it for $330 or whatever they were charging. Which is fine because the 4th and final store would've been a 7 hour round trip to get to.
The fact that I did that was the last straw for me to say "no more". In a perfect world I'd love Tidal Wave to go with my Armada bots, but I cannot in good conscience spend another $300 on one figure when I could probably buy an entire wave for that much.
I'd love for there to be an eventual sale that makes it worth it but I'm not holding my breath. It definitely feels like more often than not the Titans are produced and distributed in far smaller numbers than they were in the past because Hasbro has realized the market for Titans is basically only collectors. So stores don't sit on mountains of unsold stock long enough to slash prices. I remember getting the TR Fort Max off Amazon like 2 years after it was released for around $200. Now it feels like you're lucky if the year's Titan makes it more than a month or two past Christmas before they're all gone (if they even get that far *glares at ER Scorponok*)
It hasn't helped that in general stock levels seem much lower. My amazon wishlist of figures I don't have is like 70% stuff that's not in stock anymore and I don't expect to ever see again.
