Re: Hasbro scared of chrome parts???
I'm with the chrome is not that durable group. It looks great when used properly, but just about every BW figure I had that had chrome was flaking and just made a mess.

Re: Hasbro scared of chrome parts???
I like the chrome on the henkei Astrotrain, but mostly its simply the fact that Astrotrain is the right color to match the G1 stuff. Megs as well. So long as the Classics have a close color scheme I'm good, but when they venture too far off I start to look at the Henkei stuff.

Re: Hasbro scared of chrome parts???
I think chrome is highly overrated and should only be used when or where required. A few figures from the Movie line such as Leader Prime & Megs could have benefitted from it, but more than anything, I think Henkei are perfect examples of a good idea in theory not necessarily being a good idea in practice. All the random chrome placement combined with the watered down so-called "more G1 accurate" paint schemes just makes them look cheap imo, and I'm very thankful that's not the route Hasbro took with Classics/Universe.

Re: Hasbro scared of chrome parts???
I love chrome parts! It makes my transformers cooler and more realistic in Alt mode. But I believed they are more expensive compare to plastic. Perhaps that is why Hasbro doesn't make chrome parts on transformers, so they can make more profit.

Re: Hasbro scared of chrome parts???
While I like chrome, I'm too scared that it'll chip or flake. It's pretty hard to avoid minor chrome chipping/scratches on the BW toys. I'd have to go with "Just paint it nicer" lol.

Re: Hasbro scared of chrome parts???
Ah, to chrome or not to Chrome, that is the question.
Personally, I really don't care. If the chrome would work then I hope they use it. Aka, Takara Premium Prime vs Hasbro=Huge improvement
As a huge fan of the Alt/Binaltech series I think that chrome used sparingly, such as on Rims or Grills, can add strong sense of realism. Pointless Chrome, looking at you Henkei Grimlock, makes a TF look cheesy.
So I guess my stand is that if it should be chrome then use it but don't just slap it on because it is shiny.
Oh, and PLEASE USE PRIMER before the chrome!!!
