Hey any of you already bought something from yahoo auction Japan or amazon Japan? I'm trying to buy the super sentai Go-onger engine attaché case and I can't find it anywhere on eBay or other English website.

Buying from amazon japan shouldn't be any different from any other amazon websites. I purchased items from Amazon.fr a while ago and everything went fine. They already had my address on file from amazon.ca and all.

Dunno about yahoo auctions japan tho.

How come Amazon.com won't ship from the US to Canada? I was trying to buy that DX Mazinger but the system wouldn't let me.

Generally, Amazon will only ship the following items cross-region:
- books
- movies (DVD/Blu-Ray)
- CDs
- board games

Toys and video games appear to be no-go for cross-region shipping. My initial thoughts lean towards having to do with different safety/parental standards across the regions, but I could be wrong.

I've bought many things across Amazon.ca (obviously), Amazon.com, Amazon.co.jp, and Amazon.co.uk, and this is pretty much what I've concluded.

Buying form Yahoo Auctions Japan is a tricky thing sometimes.
Most of the time, the sellers will only take a form of payment that us Canadians wouldn't be able to provide, and generally ship only within Japan.
I've come across some sellers on Yahoo Auctions who've taken Paypal and welcome international shipping, but those are more of the exception than the norm.

Your best bet is to find a proxy buyer and pay the commission fees to get the item. The only problem is that it might not end up being that great of deal after all the fees and double-shipping (shipping from seller to proxy buyer, and from proxy buyer to you).

You can also try Mandarake. They have an english site and do international shipping, though it's usually easier to search using the japanese name because they don't bother translating ALL the items listing. The item listed change all the time so you can check often.

You need a middle man buyer that is a total bro with you, otherwise any of those "proxy" service guys will take you to town and any "savings" are thrown out the window.

Unless, of course, if the price of the item is low enough that even with the proxy fees and double-shipping, you'd still be winning. You'll have to do your math carefully, though.

I checked on Mandarake and they don't have it.
I tried to buy one on amazon.co.jp but I can't login with my amazon.ca account. So I would have to create an account directly on amazon.co.jp and it's too complicated with everything in japanese.

And for yahoo auction japan if I need a middle man is gonna be too expensive and I don't want to get screwed......

Guess i'll have to wait for one to pop on ebay....
