Human Alliance Soundwave simple leg add-on tutorial!

I never own Human Alliance Soundwave before, because it's very expensive, and the leg's design looks pretty bad for my taste, doesn't seem worth the high price tag.

Recently, I bought a KO Human Alliance Soundwave, then I finally have a chance to play with it. My feeling is that the upper body is perfect, but the legs are so week, like spider or something...can barely stand. (In fact, when I took this picture, I need to lean Soundwave against the wall. )

Also, Soundwave is significantly shorter than other Human Alliance toys.

So I studied it for a while, found a very simple and near perfect solution to improve using a leg add-on kit which anyone can easily built, let me show you here.
After this leg add-on DIY, Soundwave is slightly higher than other Human Alliance members, and that fits the image of DOTM movie.

Re: Human Alliance Soundwave simple leg add-on tutorial!

Step1. Use DOTM voyager optimus prime's legs and remove unwant parts.
I chose the legs of DOTM voyager Optimus Prime, because:
1) It's very easy to find a junker DOTM voyager Optimus Prime.
2) The legs look similar to the movie image of DOTM Soundwave's legs

Step 2, Drill 4 holes as shown on my pictures, 2 on HA Soundwave's legs, 2 on DOTM VOP. Then glue some small poles in the VOP's holes, making them can be plug into Soundwave's leg anytime.

That's it. It won't take you more than 1 hour, right? (It took me more than 1 hour, because I need to find the best places to drill those holes, but u can just follow my example now.)

Closer look at Step 2. I used left over sticks from Gundam model kit, because the plastic quality is very good.

Re: Human Alliance Soundwave simple leg add-on tutorial!

Now time to show the effect:

I believe HA Soundwave looks much better now, and the new legs even offer ankle articulation too.

And this is one bad-ass fits the image of movie Soundwave.

Because VOP's feet are really big, right now it's even easier to stand and do all kinds of poses. For example, the standard Ironman pose.

Now for the car mode. Of course I can't put these add-on legs into Soundwave's car mode. So instead I decide they will be a little trailer for the Mercedes, like this. (I didn't really attach the trailer with the car, just using the knee pad for the effect).

Now Soundwave can carry Laserbeak in its cyber motor mode, looks cooler than the CHUG bumblebee's sea-doo trailer, right?

And if Soundwave need to go to cottage during the long weekend, he now has a way to carry his whole family with energy cube too.

Of course Mr Soundwave doesn't need to worry about traffic ticket for overloaded, after all he has Barricade as escort.
