This is still just ridiculus... I can't imagine WHY we always get screwed. One of the rumors that Paramount Canada couldn't get the rights to distribute it up here. I'm sorry, but it's f#cking SAD when the company who OWNS something doesn't have the rights to it..
I may be overreacting, or it may be the fact that I got no sleep last night, but this has just ruined my week...

Re: Confused with the different version of the ROTF DVD/Blu-Ray...
You know, a buddy of mine made a good point regarding the lack of the IMAX version here.
He said that while it is VERY, VERY diappointing that we aren't getting it, how much of the Dark Knight IMAX scenes do we actually remember? And by remember I mean remember. Not look up on the net for a list of them. Personally I can only recall the scenes of him flying around Hong Kong (or where ever). And while two extra minutes can change a movie, only really if they are characterization/dialogue parts, which the ROTF scenes aren't.
And besides, how many of us have TV's large enough to really make a good showing of the IMAX scenes? I have a 50 inch plasma, and I don't even really notice the DK scenes when I'm watching it.
I think all our rage is because we weren't even give the chance to buy the IMAX version.
A justifiable rage to be sure!

Re: Confused with the different version of the ROTF DVD/Blu-Ray...
Its very simple. The imax cut has extra scenes in it. Well... one of the scenes is longer in this version. Therefor, any version without this extra footage is incomplete and not worth my time

Re: Confused with the different version of the ROTF DVD/Blu-Ray...
and I only went to the imax screenings, so to me seeing anything but what I saw in theaters will seem incomplete.
Personally, I don't get why they even released a non-imax version in the first place if the imax scenes are additional. They can't possibly hide behind the extra cost of licensing the imax footage and say credible. That film made how much money, and now they want to cheap out?

Apperently none of Western Canada (west of Winnipeg) got the shipment of ROTF SB BR courtesy of Purolator. I read it on the Futureshop forums posting by the guy in charge of the Steelbook program.
Usually the Steelbook contains the discs and is not separate but I guess they were on a time crunch too.

Re: Confused with the different version of the ROTF DVD/Blu-Ray...
Well, I got the BB case from HMV. Damn! THis thing is huge! I got the Steelcase Autobot and Decepticon cases for movie 1 but now I regret not getting the Prime and Megs cases. Anyone know where I can still get those? with or without DVDs, since i already have 2 copies.
Also, Im not thrilled for the steelcase for the BD version of TF2. Until I get a 720p/1080p TV, no point for me to buy BD discs unless the extras are REALLY good i.e Watchmen's interactive thingy.
BTW hey all, I'm back form a long absense

Re: Confused with the different version of the ROTF DVD/Blu-Ray...
Here's a tip to anyone in the lower mainland of BC:
go to 'the letter carrier', and create a paypal address with the address in this format: http://www.thelettercarrier.com/services
Go to the walmart.com site and order the big screen version, use the paypal cgheckout, and use the new address you added
Wait 2 days and pick it up in pt roberts (it's just passed tsawassen)
